The Virginia Championship Hare Scramble Association welcomes you to our
website. Founded in 1984, the series quickly developed
into one of
the top amateur organizations in the United States. Its strength and
success can be found in the friendly competitive spirit of its riders and
the friendly atmosphere that exists among the competitors. Our motto
of "Formed for Riders by Riders" is the foundation on
which the series was built and is indicative of its basis of
operation. The organization is run by elected volunteer officers and
by many other volunteers who donate their time to ensure that it remains a
quality series.
The series has some of the
most scenic and challenging courses found anywhere, ranging from the
wooded sandy flatlands in the east to the rocky mountainous terrain in the
west. With a total of 20 classes (including Pee Wee, Masters and
Women's classes), riders are able to pick from a wide variety of classes
covering every age group, skill level and gender classification. In
addition, the series has one of the best contingency packages found
anywhere in the nation. At the end of each season, an awards banquet
is held where riders in all classes are recognized for their riding
accomplishments.
We hope that you enjoy our
website. But more importantly, we hope to see you at the
races. So load up the family, get the picnic lunch packed, throw in
a couple of lawn chairs, bring a camera and then get ready for a great
action-packed day of racing in the Virginia Championship Hare Scramble
Series (VCHSS).
Good Riding,
The VCHSS Association |
